Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our team.  Our Regulatory Reporting team focuses on providing data for regulatory compliance, including license reporting, capital controls, audits, and various ad hoc inquiries.  We work on a monthly cycle to prepare, validate, and present comprehensive data sets covering volume, liability, revenue, and statistical measures.  Our data needs to reconcile to financial reporting.  This role demands a solid understanding of Wise’s product lines, regional variations, and fundamental financial accounting principles. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and maintain data models for monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reporting,
  • Compile and validate periodical data outputs for regulatory authorities,
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that automate data extraction, loading, and transformation for reporting models,
  • Document reporting outputs and control frameworks,
  • Collaborate with Prudential Controller, Regional Controllers, and Compliance teams to ensure compliance of metrics and dimensions with interpretations,
  • Create visualizations and reports to communicate trends and data issues to stakeholders,
  • Contribute to process and system improvements in regulatory reporting,
  • Stay updated with upstream model changes and new product/license launches,
  • Support controllers and compliance teams with data during audit reviews and address ad-hoc regulatory reporting requests,
  • Work cross-team to explain and resolve data source issues impacting reporting.

 

Qualifications

About you:

  • You are based in Tallinn
  • Passionate about Wise's mission and vision.
  • Expertise in SQL (experience with DBT strongly preferred) with a willingness to learn Python if not already proficient.
  • Prior experience owning and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Skilled in data visualization tools such as Looker, Superset, or similar.
  • Able to work autonomously, take initiative, set own tasks and meet deadlines,
  • Able to effectively communicate with diverse cross team functions and ready to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of modern data systems and their operations.
  • Prior experience in financial or regulatory reporting, controlling, audit, or management accounting is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with PnLs, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Proficiency in Excel/spreadsheet tools and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Comfortable operating with uncertainty and eager to learn.
  • Flexible and able to work across multiple teams, offices, and time zones with a "can do" attitude.
  • Open to self-development and skill improvement.
  • Ability to generate data control reports and address data quality issues.
