Part-time Network Engineer

Womith OÜ is looking for a current or newly graduated IT student to fill the roll of part-time Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will help support our internal networks as-well-as work for customers. It is a part-time (0.5) position created for a period of 6 months, with the possibility to discuss further career opportunities. Work is generally done on site.

Summary:

The Network Engineer will work with the our team in learning and applying skills in the areas of network design, implementation, and support. This includes network monitoring, upgrades and remediation. In addition, they will develop knowledge around Cyber Security, including threat detection, vulnerability management and remediation.

Essential Duties:

Apply network design and configuration principles

Apply network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques

Assist in defining and maintaining technical documentation and network diagrams

Assist in maintaining network device inventory

Explore network automation opportunities for enhancing configuration and firmware updates

Manage network switches (Cisco)

Network security principles (Forinet)

Roll out multicast support on network switches (Cisco)

Assist in resolving network incidents within SLA’s

Track network security vulnerabilities and assist in performing remediation (code upgrades)

Education Required:

Degree or pursuing degree in Information Technology or Electrical Engineering

Technical aptitude with an interest in IT infrastructure

Skills Required:

Basic Understanding of cloud networking

Basic experience with network management

Understanding of core network components (routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls)

Understanding of different cabling types: Multimode fiber, single-mode fiber, Ethernet

Understanding on L2/L3 technologies 

Understanding of IP v4/v6

Understanding and interest in LAN/WAN routing

Good problem-solving skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Language skills: 

English in conversational level is a must.
