Job Description

As an NPI Quality Engineer, you will lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to full production, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing. You will be responsible for overseeing and preparing PPAP documentation, conducting PFMEA, developing control plans, and defining inspection criteria to meet both internal and customer quality requirements.

Additionally, you will coordinate process validation activities, including Measurement System Analysis (MSA), capability studies, and Gauge R&R, ensuring robust and reliable manufacturing processes.

You will play a key role in ensuring that new products meet the highest quality standards while working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes. A passion for learning new quality methodologies, tools, and systems will be essential to excelling in this role, and company-paid training will be available when necessary.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage on-site New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to full production.

  • Prepare PPAP documentation, including Flowcharts, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.

  • Coordinate process validation activities such as MSA, capability studies, and Gauge R&R.

  • Ensure compliance with industry and customer quality standards.

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality-related training.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in new product launches.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, DOE) for NPI issues.

  • Drive cost reduction and manufacturability improvements in NPI projects.

  • Implement production steps into the ERP system and ensure a smooth handover of NPI projects to production.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in quality engineering and NPI project management.

  • Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation techniques.

  • Experience in Measurement System Analysis (MSA), capability studies, and Gauge R&R.

  • Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, DOE).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Experience in metalworking and/or assembly is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems related to manufacturing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
