Estonia’s Most Attractive Employers of 2024

Estonia’s leading job site, CVKeskus.ee, has revealed the results of its 13th annual Estonia’s Most Attractive Employers survey. LHV Pank emerged as the nation’s most desirable employer for 2024, securing the top spot for an impressive third consecutive year. Swedbank took second place, while Wise rounded out the top three.

The top ten most attractive employers in Estonia for 2024 also included Telia Eesti, Eesti Energia, Bolt, Enefit, SEB Pank, Elisa Eesti, and Tallink Group.

The list of Estonia’s most attractive employers further featured Pipedrive, Tele2 Eesti, Playtech Eesti, Coop Pank, Tallinn Airport, the Police and Border Guard Board, Yolo Group, Helmes, Merko Ehitus, and ABB, who all captured a spot among the best employers of 2024.

Newcomers and Notable Movers in 2024

The 2024 list of Estonia's most attractive employers welcomed several new entrants, including the Police and Border Guard Board (16th), Yolo Group (17th), and Merko Ehitus (19th). SEB Pank and Tallinn Airport achieved the most significant upward moves this year, climbing nine and five spots respectively.

Top Employers by Industry

This year’s CVKeskus.ee survey also identified the most attractive employers across ten key sectors.

Unlike the general ranking, where participants independently named their preferred employers (unaided research), the sector-specific rankings utilized an aided brand awareness approach, offering a curated list of company names for selection.

How to Build a Company People Want to Work For?

Respondents were asked to select up to three qualities, from a list of 27 options, that they believe define an ideal employer.

“Flexible work arrangements and remote work opportunities have gained even more importance over the past year,” said Grete Adler, Recruitment Manager at CVKeskus.ee. She pointed out that 40% of employees identified this as a key characteristic of an attractive workplace.

Compared to 2023, there has been a notable increase in interest in employers who foster an inclusive work culture, drive innovation, and offer opportunities to collaborate with top experts in their field.

“The survey results highlight the importance of understanding the diverse expectations of employees, which can vary greatly depending on age, career stage, or profession,” Adler explained. For instance, while 18–24-year-olds prioritize career development opportunities, flexible work arrangements are a top priority for those aged 25–44, often due to balancing work and family responsibilities.

Preferences also vary by profession. Specialists, office workers, and managers rank flexible work arrangements as their top priority. In contrast, skilled workers value a modern work environment, while service sector employees place the highest importance on an inclusive work culture that respects employee opinions.  

Regional Highlights

The survey also revealed regional variations in employer preferences across Estonia.

South Estonia: LHV Pank was named the most desirable employer, followed by Telia Eesti, Bolt, Eesti Energia, and Wise rounding out the top five.

East Estonia: LHV Pank retained the top spot, with Enefit, Eesti Energia, Telia Eesti, and Wise completing the leading ranks.

West Estonia (including Pärnu): Swedbank emerged as the most attractive employer, ahead of LHV Pank, Eesti Energia, Wise, and Telia Eesti.
